A Tribute to Ella Fitzgerald featuring Sharny Russell with Martha Baartz

Top local jazz musician, Martha Baartz, has assembled a stunning quintet for a tribute show to Ella Fitzgerald. This show will be followed by the bonus feature of the big band sound of Jake Bryant and Friends.

Ella Fitzgerald was arguably the greatest female jazz singer the world has known. Her rich, lyrical voice, her innate musicality which allowed her to swing with the band and improvise solos just like her instrument-playing counterparts, and her joy in performance was an inspiration to every jazz singer that has followed behind her.

Sharny Russell, one of Australias leading jazz vocalists has written this excellent tribute that covers many of the favourite Fitzgerald recordings, with a stellar 4 piece band and lots of love!
