Throughout its 10 year history, the Battle on the Border became the leading cycling festival on the East Coast of Australia, offering an entertaining and environmentally friendly event that catered to competitive and social participants from across the nation and South East Asia, and maximised tourism for the unique caldera communities within which it is partnered.
Following successive flood years, the decision was made to repurpose and rebrand the event with a focus on rehabilitating the region. Now together with their cycling family, they are ready to go back to Battle.
The ride and racing spirit never left them, and they are ready to go back to their roots, focussing on the purest elements of their sport while maintaining their connection to the community.
In 2019 they began a partnership with the local Cycle for Life. Over 800 riders from Queensland and Northern New South Wales joined in the free event, raising awareness of organ donation. They are proud to again support the Cycle for Life through the Battle on the Border in 2020.
