Want to Learn how to support adolescents who are developing a mental health problem or who are in a mental health crisis?

Youth Mental Health First Aid is a 14-hour course that teaches adults (18 years and over) how to provide initial support to adolescents who are developing a mental illness, are experiencing an ongoing mental illness and/or are experiencing a mental health crisis.

The course provides current statistics and information about the following mental illnesses: depression, anxiety problems, eating disorders, psychosis and substance use problems. The course also provides information in how to support and assist young people in the following mental health crises: suicidal thoughts and behaviours, non-suicidal self-injury, traumatic events, severe psychotic states and aggressive behaviours.

The course will be run on four consecutive Thursday nights between 5.30-9pm. The four dates are- 27th July and 3rd, 10th and 17th August. Attendance to all four nights are ESSENTIAL for accreditation.

Minimum and maximum numbers apply. Minimum numbers for course are approx 5 participants.Maximum numbers are 20.

Strict course cancellation policy. If tickets are cancelled within 7 days of course beginning- no refund will be provided. Within 2 weeks- 50% refund provided.
