Take a Trail To Wedded Bliss

Planning a wedding can be a daunting prospect with so many choices from venue and celebrant to styling and catering, but the path to wedded bliss has been made easy, fun and a great day out by organisers of the Tweed Wedding Trail, celebrating its third year in 2020.

For couples planning to take a walk down the aisle, a drive along the Tweed Wedding Trail is the perfect place to start, with over 140 local wedding suppliers and 9 premium venues opening their doors to showcase the many ways to wed in the beautiful Tweed region, from coast to country.

A free one day self-guided tour, the Trail is a must for couples, mother-daughter duos, bride tribes and anyone else looking for inspiration to tie the knot in the beautiful Tweed region, with venues ranging from barnyard style to open-air tipis and elegant plantation to absolute beach-front.

Trail organiser and Tweed Coast Weddings manager Kristy Mason said the Trail attracts around 1500 people and is designed to be a one-stop planning shop for attendees to not only connect with a wide range of wedding suppliers in just one day, but also get ideas and inspiration for how their wedding will look and feel.

“The Trail is an interactive showcase that takes people right to the doors of our many wedding venues so couples can literally imagine and experience their special day first-hand, while also connecting with local suppliers from stylists and photographers, to florists, celebrants, musicians and more.”

A much-loved destination for ceremonies and celebrations, the Tweed region welcomes weddings as a key driver for local businesses as well as for the broader regional economy.

General Manager of the Tweed Tourism Company, Brad Nardi, said destination weddings created a great boost for tourism in the region with small to large groups staying for multiple days.

“We know that people will travel from all over to attend weddings and typically will also take another day or two to extend the celebrations beyond the ceremony, and this brings significant visitor spend to our region. The Tweed Wedding Trail is instrumental in creating reasons for people to choose the Tweed for their special day and then connecting them with our array of great supplier and venue businesses.”

The Tweed Wedding Trail is on this Sunday 19 January 2020 from 11am to 4pm. It’s a free event but registration is required in order to receive the full Trail map and details.
