50th Anniversary Concert

It’s January 14th 1973

Elvis Presley takes the stage at the Honolulu International Centre, now known as the Neal S. Blaisdell Centre, to make history. Wearing a gem-studded white jumpsuit and a hip-length cape, Presley performed a 22-song set and said “Aloha”, in a way only the ‘King of Rock’n’Roll can, not just to the thousands of fans in attendance, but to the world.

‘Aloha From Hawaii via Satellite‘ was one of the most significant live performances by Elvis Presley for a multitude of reasons. Using, at the time, cutting edge satelite technology, the show was the first live satelite broadcast to feature a single performer in history. It was seen by an estimated 1.3 billion people at the time of it’s showing and the soundtrack of the show reached number one on Billboard’s Hot 100. It was a true spectacle in every sense of the word.

And it all came from Presley and his want to entertain”all his fans throughout the world” according to his manager Colonel Tom Parker

Johnny Lee Memphis

Johnny hails from Coalsnaughton Scotland and is presently a resident of Glasgow UK. Johnny’s Elvis career began in 2005 when he entered various Elvis Tribute Artist Competitions for fun and the love of Elvis. Placing third in three consecutive European Elvis Championships in 2008, 2009, 2010, Johnny wenton to win ‘The Elvis World Cup’ in Porthcawl, Wales in 2010 and the European Championships in Birmingham 2014.

Johnny represented the UK in the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Competition in 2015 and was placed sixth after winning the qualifying final in Penticton, Canada.

“There will only ever be one Elvis Presley, he was the greatest entertainer of all time. In this show we try and create the excitment of that night way back in Honolulu, Hawaii 1973 with this authentic recreation of the show.”

Shaylee Wilde & Ben Greene

Shaylee Wilde is a former Australian / Irish ‘Entertainer of the Year‘.She has been the resident entertainer at Australia’s favourite Irish Hotel , The Mercantile Hotel, at The Rocks, Sydney, for the past thirty years. Shaylee, together with her son, Ben, sings from ‘Galway to Graceland’ as only she can.
