Autumn Equinox Rebirthing with Kundalini Yoga
Details
Resourcing – Redirecting – Revitalising your Energetic Being with Kundalini Yoga and Breath
Equinox and Solstice peaks are seasonal opportunity to attune to the natural rhythms. These times are turning points and support intentional or meditative practice. The diminishing light (or death) may be considered a negative in a death phobic culture, yet this transition is an active and fertile state of life. The shedding leaves and decomposing nature of Autumn is called an abscission process. Toko-pa explains, “Abscission comes from the same Latin root as scissors, scindere, meaning “to cut,” and is a way of conserving energy and resources for the harsh winter ahead. But also in that shedding are the reproductive fruits, seeds, and cones that are the hope for new life being sent out into the world.”
What is a Rebirthing Kriya?
A Kriya is a sequence of angular posture, breath, mudra, bandhas (internal holds) and sometimes mantra. Specifically, a Rebirthing Kriya (in the Kundalini Yoga method) offers a deeper practice that works with the subconscious mind, clearing and purifying memory, habit, or pattern. Rebirthing is an occasional practice, potent and magnified by peaks such as Autumn Equinox. Each Rebirthing Kriya is unique yet affirming to introduce diversity of movement and breath (pranayama) while keeping to the fundamental principles of tantric yoga. Unlike other posture (asana) focused styles of yoga, Kundalini Yoga has an energetic ‘edge’ that is felt rather than learned – attending a class is best approached with an open mind and heart.
How does Kundalini Yoga work?
The physical body, mental body, energy bodies, and 72000 energy channels (nadi’s) are a harmonious system, by nature. Unlike stretching the body, Kundalini Yoga often uses a pulsing action, with a dynamic movement and breath. The results commonly include; a heart opening response; relaxed and balanced nervous system; a calm, clear mind; a deep connection to Self and Source; a Spiritual awakening; increased awareness; intuitive insights and more. Cleansing the subconscious load and harmonising the whole being resources, redirects and revitalises your energy.
