Get inspired by our Social Fabric exhibition, then let your imagination run wild to create a piece of wearable fashion art.

In the past it was common for people to make their own clothes. Get inspired by our Social Fabric exhibition, then let your imagination run wild to create a piece of wearable fashion art . You will use an amazing array of recycled materials and manufacturing off-cuts that might otherwise just get thrown away. No sewing skills are required as we experiment with glue guns, staplers, elastic bands and more to assemble your unique recycled creation.

Suitable for 6yo +

Children under 12 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

About the Social Fabric exhibition

Social Fabric displays some of the Museum’s never before seen clothing collection. Each garment tells a surprising and unexpected story. Drag queen gowns, mermaid costumes, military uniforms and lacy corsets all chronicle the social history of fashion and dressmaking in the Tweed.

28 February 2023 – 15 July 2023.
