(OUR LAST EXHIBITION)

Hopes and Dreams 11:11 is a new series of works that has been manifesting over time. It’s a body of work that reflects an inner struggle to break free against the push and pull of conformity, familiarity and expectations.  Both in life and art, there has been a tension between following a proven path and releasing control; sticking to what I know and breaking down walls to allow new energies to flow.  These works have emerged as result of this tension, sometimes struggling awkwardly whilst sometimes emerging effortlessly without inhibition. Each of the paintings has a visceral connection to time and space and forms part of my lived experience in finding my way through new chapters.

This exhibition is my first solo show at Mist Gallery and the last before we close the doors to make room for a new chapter.

Also showcasing ceramics by Katrina Jeffrey and Samara Bult
