The Tweed’s culinary scene has seen a flurry of new restaurant openings and foodie experiences. To give you a taste; new openings include a farm-to-table contemporary restaurant, beachside tapas bar and gourmet pasta deli. 

Add these new places to eat and drink in The Tweed to your must-dine list.  

FARM & CO 

Opened 2 September, the newly revamped restaurant at Farm & Co – an organic working farm in the heart of Cudgen – offers an authentic paddock-to-plate dining experience with an ethos of local and sustainable eating. Diners can expect a vibrant menu designed to share, highlighting the seasonal produce in abundance on the farm.

An exciting new collaboration between awarded hospitality heavyweights. Spearheaded by Mark Wilson of acclaimed hospitality group PLB Group (Osteria, Lolita’s Mexican Cantina, Ancora Weddings, and The Acre Boomerang Farm) and Rachel Duffy (former General Manager at Icebergs Dining Room and Bar, and founder of esteemed Cabarita newcomer No. 35 Kitchen and Bar).

APEX DINING 

Surrounded by breathtaking views of the Tweed valley, Apex Dining has opened at the Tweed Regional Gallery and Margaret Olley Art Centre. Inspired by the abundant local produce, Apex Dining dishes up a unique combination of rustic French patisserie and modern café plates with a fresh and playful pan-Asian twist. Pair your next gallery visit with coffee and a freshly baked tart, or a glass of your favourite vino and a bowl of sticky pork belly, vermicelli, herbs, pickles, peanuts, fried shallots, nuoc cham dressing.

Apex Dining is brought to you by The Munch Bunch, the team behind local venues Baked At Ancora, Pastry Bread Espresso and Kiosk at Casuarina.

THE BEEHIVE CABARITA BEACH

Cabarita’s newest café, The Beehive Cabarita Beach, brews Botero coffee daily and fresh baked treats. Think: salted tahini cookies drizzled with hazelnut chocolate, Persian cake with orange blossom and roasted pistachios, and fresh Afghan bread pouches made daily.  Brought to you by the team from The Burrow, The Beehive is by the people, for the people.

BOAT HARBOUR FARMERS & ARTISAN MARKET 

The Tweed’s newest market, Boat Harbour Farmers & Artisan Market, is a collective of local farmers, makers, bakers and growers. The market, held on the 1st Saturday of the month in Tweed Heads, showcases the best of the region featuring 100% locally sourced and made products. If you are partial to delicious street food, local artisan vendors and vibey music on a glittering Tweed Saturday, then we suggest you get down to Jack Evans Boat Harbour.

SUNFALL TAPAS 

Opening 8 September, Sunfall Tapas is a trendy new restaurant located on the esplanade of Kingscliff. Just metres from the beach, this new venue will be a go-to for those post arvo swim drinks. They’ll be serving, you guessed it, tasty tapas and amazing cocktails. Expect live music, good vibes and mouthwatering food as the sun goes down.

PASTA’BAH 

COMING SOON from the team at Woodland Valley Farm, Pasta’bah is a whole new pasta experience is making it’s way to a Murwillumbah laneway. The gourmet deli will give you a peak into the kitchen with large glass windows allowing you to see the pasta making magic in action. This deli will be stocked with Woodland Valley Farms signature sauces, custards, ready-made meals, pasta filings and, of course, enough fresh ravioli, tortellini and other handmade pastas to feed a small Italian village.  

Whilst no date has been set for the official opening of Pasta’bah (follow their socials for live updates), you can get your pasta fix from Woodland Valley Farm at the Murwillumbah Farmers Market on Wednesdays at the Murwillumbah Showgrounds.
