Adapting Agriculture for Climate Disruption
Details
A workshop for beef and dairy graziers on adapting to climate change, supported by industry experts Tweed Shire Council and Tweed Landcare.
Are you are grazier in the Tweed? Are you concerned about climate disruption and the impacts to your farm?
Living in the Northern Rivers shows us that we live in a land of extremes, where the impacts of drought and flooding rains are felt by both our productive lands and local biodiversity. As the climate changes, it is expected that we will experience more intense rainfall and more frequent droughts.
So how can we manage our landscape to cope with variable water supply, support biodiversity and adapt our farms and communities for a resilient future?
The day comprises of a morning seminar and panel discussion with industry experts and farmers focused on the local impacts of climate change and adaptation options for the beef and dairy sectors. This will be followed by an afternoon climate adaptation planning workshop for landholders.
Separate registrations are required for each session.
The morning seminar is an information session covering climate change impacts and adaptation strategies for beef and dairy farmers.
The afternoon workshop is a hands on farm planning exercise for a smaller group of landholders and places are limited.
