There’s something inherently relaxing about heading south for a day trip, or even the weekend. It’s a feeling of calm that washes over you as soon as you get over Sexton Hill Drive. You’re free. It’s intoxicating and invigorating at the same time. If it’s been a hot minute since you’ve jumped in the car and headed south, then why not take a trip down to the Art Fair at Stokers Siding, which is on every second month.

Not only do you get to enjoy an idyllic day in the country checking out the extraordinary pool of artists that reside in and around the Northern Rivers, but you can chow down on delicious wood fired pizza and nachos, refuel with freshly made coffee, treat yourself to a homemade sweet and soak in some live melodies from local musicians.

Never heard of Stokers Siding? Located just outside Murwillumbah, the monthly fair is a curated art exhibition presenting a diverse range of original paintings alongside prints, photography, pottery, sculpture, ceramics, jewellery, mixed media, textiles, fashion and works on paper by more than 20 exhibiting artists. It’s an artistic mixed-bag – you never know what you might just stumble upon.
