Join artist Tsering Hannaford for a painting workshop and enjoy exclusive access to objects from Margaret Olley’s home studio re-creation.

Join award-winning artist Tsering Hannaford for a two-day oil painting workshop focusing on still life. Tsering will guide participants through fundamentals of her classical approach to still life painting, including lighting, composition and colour, as they complete a still life painting with objects from Margaret Olley’s re-creation studio.

This workshop is part of the MOAC Masterclass series that celebrates the 100th birthday anniversary of Margaret Olley, Australia’s most celebrated painter of still life and interiors.

Suitable for painters with some experience. Some materials are provided, but artists are encouraged to bring their own brushes and oil paints. Places are limited, and bookings are essential.

Gallery Cafe Apex Dining is open for lunch and orders can be taken before the workshop begins.

About the Artist

Tsering Hannaford‘s painting have been exhibited eight times in the Archibald Prize (highly commended, 2020). She has been a finalist in the Portia Geach Memorial Award (highly commended, 2014) and a semi-finalist in the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize. Tsering’s practice is informed by specialist training abroad in classical methods and painting from life. Her still life paintings explore themes of impermanence and renewal.

In conjunction with the exhibition Margaret Olley: Far from a Still Life on display at Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre 22 March – 8 October.
