Retina Rounds 3, 2023 (South GC & NSW)

Retina rounds is back for 2023 with new venue options. Once again, Retina Specialists Dr Nathan Walker & Dr Khoi Tran will be presenting interesting retinal and general ophthalmic cases from clinical practice in a small group setting over dinner, allowing plenty of time for discussion. Therapeutic considerations will be covered as appropriate.

‘Retina Rounds’ will also provide attendees the opportunity to submit or present ophthalmic cases and raise diagnostic and management issues (email cases in advance to nathanjwalker@gmail.com or ktran81@gmail.com, or bring them along on the night). The format is designed to be interactive and high yield with the case mix varying over time.

The aim is to encourage discussion amongst colleagues about common, complex, or interesting ophthalmic cases encountered in clinical practice.

With the temporary closure of our previous venue, Little Truffle, we are mixing it up a bit this year with venue options to cater for those at the northern and, separately southern, ends of the Gold Coast.

Ladybird, at Palazzo Versace on The Spit at Main Beach, is an Asian fusion restaurant with a private dining room that caters for 16 people.

While for those at the southern end of the Coast, Siblings at Kirra offers modern Australian cuisine and will host a larger meeting for 24 people towards the end of the year.

Additionally, a separate Retina Rounds function will form part of Specsavers internal education series to be held in August.

**Specsaver Optometrists will receive a separate invitation to their Education Series.

**As this is an optometry education series, we will not be accepting bookings from medical practitioners this year, but we thank you very much for your support in previous years.

**Attendance is limited at each event due to the capacity of the venue. The aim is to hold these events regularly so all optometrists in the Gold Coast region will have the opportunity to attend at least once a year.
