I am delighted to host the second ‘Stories that Stir’ Northern Rivers event, designed to break down barriers, stir conversation and inspire positive change.

Audience members rave about how good it feels to spend a lovely evening, listening to other people’s funny, moving, and inspiring stories and how connected to humanity the event makes them feel.

Join us on 8 February 2024 to experience the magic for yourself and hear from the following six inspiring people, who will be sharing their 10-minute raw and personal stories, linked to the theme TRANSFORMATION:

Sunil Sethi – Ending Complex PTSD

Sunil was born in Kenya, during British rule saw the horrors of discrimination, abuse, and oppression as a child and went on a freedom march. He grew up in England and his family were survivors of genocide in pre-independent India. Someone who is starting to thrive from intergenerational Trauma, with many challenges he has faced in Australia over 34 years. Childhood trauma is known as Complex PTSD. It’s complex because the trauma was repeated, it leads to Attachment Disorders and Other Symptomatic Disassociative Disorders, at worse Disassociative Identity Disorder.

Talei Golin – The Turning Point

Join us for an inspiring journey through ‘The Turning Point.’ In this captivating tale, Talei takes you from a pivotal moment in her aircraft engineering career to a life-changing decision that reshaped her entire existence. Martin Bourke –  Beyond Impossible

Martin’s story starts in the shadows of Mt Everest where he will take you on an unexpected adventure both externally and internally as he goes on what he thought would be one of his last adventures in life. What he found in the majesty of the Himalayas and the beautiful Nepalese people was more than he could ever have imagined, and it transformed his life into a vibrant, purposeful adventure. Come and enjoy this compelling story of belief in overcoming impossible odds that will shift your emotions and inspire you all.

Matt Nemes – Athlete’s Evolution

Matt started as a very determined young athlete in the Hills District of Sydney, travelling the world as a football goalkeeper. High performance is a passion and part of his DNA. These days, Matt is married and a father of three boys. Matthew loves his family, stays fit and sometimes hides in the wardrobe for the rare opportunity to have some quiet time. Tonight, he’s going to share his transformation from a high-performing athlete to become a business owner.

Tracey Horton – Empowered Healing

Tracey Horton is the woman for people who find themselves with unhealthy patterns, or with something that keeps holding them back. From the moment you met her, you would never pick that behind the woman you have just met is a story of surviving domestic violence and sexual abuse, born into poverty and abuse, she has a unique message of embracing the depth of hurt to truly find yourself.

Leah Kapral – Live Your Dream

Leah Kapral had a successful career in environmental management and after she was sexually harassed in front of her male work colleagues, she lost confidence in herself and then chose an emotionally coercive relationship. She sought resources to rebuild self-love and rewired her brain to positive thinking. She is now helping others to get unstuck and live their dreams.

Please join us for a night of extraordinary stories that will make you laugh, cry and view the world in a different light.

If you’d like to have dinner at the Kingscliff Beach Hotel beforehand, we recommend arriving by 6 pm.

If you’re not eating at the Hotel beforehand, please arrive by 7 pm to enjoy a drink and mingle. Seating at 7:20 pm, with the storytelling commencing at 7:30 pm. PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL TIMES ARE NSW DAYLIGHT SAVING TIMES.
