Tweed Valley Clinical Society – Child & Youth Addictions

This clinical society meeting will explore the evolving landscape of e-cigarettes, focusing on use by young people. It will provide practical tips on vaping and smoking cessation and will discuss ways to build a holistic understanding of what young patients are consuming. Experimenting with alcohol and other drugs is a relatively normal part of adolescent risk-taking behaviour, however primary care professionals should be alert to substance use behaviour and the impact that substance use can have on the developing brain and later cognitive development.
