“To meditate is to be aware, to learn to see clearly and then to respond to what’s needed” Oren Jay Sofer

How do you feel when you hear the word meditate? Some people love it, and others hate it. Many people have tried meditation and given up because they spent the whole time thinking. Others think it is sitting cross-legged for hours and who has the time (or back strength!) for that.

This Global Meditation Day, we are gathering together three teachers who will offer a variety of different paths to meditation and inner connection. Here’s what you can expect:

– Learn and experience a broader definition of meditation and why meditation helps us off the mat.

– Experience different styles of meditation from movement to lying down so you have a variety of practices to draw on for different days and situations.

– Be inspired with practical ideas on how to establish or refresh a daily meditation practice

– Learn from long-term meditators and meditation teachers on both the benefits of meditation as well as the challenges of meditating particularly for those who are busy and have active minds.

– Enjoy some beautiful and diverse ways to relax and connect with yourself.

Some of the meditation styles to be covered include:

-Yin yoga through the lens of self enquiry & mind-body connection

-Moving meditation, such as qi gong and walking meditations for those of us who find it hard to sit still, live busy lives or want some more grounding and energy.

-Mindfulness practices that can be used throughout the day

-Yoga nidra – a deeply nourishing practice for the nervous system
