Student Enrichment Day

In conjunction with the exhibition Animal as Object. We invite Students from year 10 – 12 (stage 5 and 6) to meet and work with artist Deb Mostert.

Based on years of observation and research within the bird and mammal collections at the Queensland Museum, Animal as Object seeks to explore the paradoxical ‘objectness’ of animals in nature through taxidermy and in culture through the souvenir.

During the enrichment day the students will learn drawing and observation techniques, as well as key elements of the journaling process integral to art practice. Subject matter will include found natural objects and taxidermy.

Limit of three students per school. 25 students in total .
